I am an exhaustive optimist. I see the good in almost everything because it is a coping mechanism of my childhood and also it helps me process what’s happening. I don’t like to wallow so I try to move forward. It can be exhausting. There is also a feeling, I grew up with that women rally the troups and are the beacon of light in difficult times. That’s a lot of pressure to be peppy when maybe you don’t need to be smiley and clappy, but just do what you need to do-quietly and in your own time.
Always look on the bright side of life are words, in my opinion, for others to say when they don’t know what to say to someone who is in the midst of a storm. I think it is just as healthy to say, “well look–Shit. I’m sorry.”
